Lilly, this week’s Pet of the Week, is a red heeler with a coat that appears strawberry blonde and she has a sweet, sunny attitude to match it.
Heelers are attentive, cautious and wary and make excellent family watchdogs. Lilly’s wariness wears off quickly and she seems to have no problem attaching to the human nearest her. One shelter staff called her “the perfect dog” – a judiciously used phrase from this employee.
Lilly would need daily exercise and weekly grooming, but she also needs lots of love, petting and attention to keep her sweet, gentle nature intact. She is a loving and gets along with other dogs at the shelter.
She is small for a heeler, weighing about 35 pounds, and would make a nice house dog. She is reportedly spayed. If this is the case, her adoption fee would drop to $21, which includes a rabies shot.
To adopt Lilly, or one of the many dogs or cats at the Mineral Wells Animal Shelter, call (940) 328-7752 or come by the shelter, located at 101 FM Road 2256. Her adoption fee includes spaying and a rabies shot.
