About 24 hours after the death of cyclist Iris Stagner came a call over the radio Tuesday afternoon of a bike-car accident on S.W. 22 Street and 9th Avenue.
Although a 9-year-old boy was struck and knocked off a bike, he was up and playing shortly after, having been slightly injured according to his parents. He showed some small abrasions on his stomach after being treated in a Mineral Wells EMS ambulance.
An eyewitness said the driver was going slowly, westbound on S.W. 22 Street, slowing for some girls who were walking, when the boy on a bike failed to yield at a stop sign and rode in front of a van.
