The birth of our great state as the Republic of Texas is celebrated at the Palo Pinto County Old Jail Museum with the exhibit, “Signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence,” supplied by Humanities Texas.
This exhibition is available free to the public now through Nov. 10. Museum hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Humanities Texas develops and supports diverse programs across the state. The Palo Pinto County Historical Association looks forward to exhibiting a new series of Texas Heritage exhibits from Humanities Texas during the 2013 exhibit season.
Fifty-nine Brave Texans affixed their signatures to a document entitled, “The Unanimous Declaration of Independence made by the Delegates of the People of Texas.”
