Alleged embezzlement reported
Police said they are investigating an alleged theft by a former employee at a Mineral Wells animal clinic on U.S. Highway 281 North. According to police, the owner noticed the bills weren't being paid and discovered about $20,000 missing. An audit of the financial records is being performed to find out how much was stolen, police reported. The theft is believed to have taken place over the past year and a half and was reported Jan. 7 to police.
Burglaries
• Two gold pinky rings covered in diamonds and valued at over $2,000 total were reported stolen Tuesday from a cupholder in a Ford pickup parked in the 800 block of South Oak Drive, police said. The driver's side window was rolled down about half an inch, according to a police report.
• A $700 Dell laptop was stolen from the front seat of an unlocked vehicle in the 900 block of S.E. 6th Street between 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday, police reported.
• A red generator valued at $550 was reported stolen from the bed of a pickup parked at a motel in the 6800 block of U.S. Highway 180 East between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a police.
Pills reported stolen
A complainant reported Hydrocodone pills and Soma pills, about 200 total, stolen by a friend from the prescription bottles in her purse. The person reportedly reached in the purse that was in the vehicle while they were talking in the 1400 block of S.E. 8th Street and took the pills, according to a police report.
Arrests
Mineral Wells police reported the following arrests:
• Timothy Gregory Valley, 33, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Wednesday for possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces.
• Melissa Kay Pontremoli, 33, of Millsap, was arrested Wednesday on warrants for driving with an expire license plate and speeding.
• Tadley Jason Valley, 31, of Millsap, was arrested Wednesday for theft, less than $50.
• Rikkie Jo Horton, 33, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Thursday for theft, more than $50, less than $500.
• Raymond Travis Poole Jr., 17, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Thursday at Mineral Wells High School for disorderly conduct.
• Christy Gail McMillan, 32, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Thursday on a Palo Pinto County off-bond warrant for forgery and two city warrants for driving without a seatbelt.
• Christopher Chance Beauchamp, 17, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Thursday on six traffic warrants.
• Bonnie Jean Dorsett, 25, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Friday on warrants from Archer County, Haskell County and Vernon Police Department for theft by check.
