An unusually long term friendship has endured in this age when such relationships rarely happen. This group of friends grew up in the River Oaks area of Tarrant County and met in the first or second grades at Castleberry Elementary School.
In this group there have been four sister duos, who range in age from 72 to 84. Several have lost husbands, some have lost children,some have been blessed with 50th wedding anniversaries. Three of the group Phyllis (Sutherland) Smith, Reba (Franklin) Smith and Joanne (Huckabee) Noyse have passed away.
Two of the widows later remarried and the lingerie showers were hilarious to say the least.
