City Gym open on Saturday, Sunday
Mineral Wells City Gym will close early today and will be closed on Friday in observance of the New Year's Day holiday.
The gym will reopen Saturday and be open on Sunday under normal operating hours.
Masquerade ball tonight at HHCC
A masquerade ball benefiting Meals on Wheels of Palo Pinto County is tonight at Holiday Hills Country Club. The festivities begin at 8 p.m. with music and entertainment from local DJ Thomas Smith of Smith Audio.
Masks are required, but if you have a hard time finding something perfect, they will be available for purchase at the door.
Tickets are $30 each or $50 per couple until Christmas and $35 and $60 after then. Your ticket includes a champagne toast at midnight and a breakfast buffet. Everyone age 21 and over is welcome and after 5 o’clock attire is requested.
Tickets are available at the Meals on Wheels of Palo Pinto County office at 1410 S.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Street, the Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce and First Financial Bank.

During this event at the Best Western Club House Hotel Inn and Suites, 4410 U.S. Highway 180 East, the ICCA will be purchasing coins, paper currency, gold and silver on behalf of their global network of collectors, dealers and refineries.

PET OF THE WEEK: Catahoula mix looking for a new place to call home
“Capt. Jack” is a short hair, mixed-breed dog – mostly Catahoula leopard – with an intriguing red merle-patterned coat. This approximately 2-year-old, 55-pound male also has one blue eye and one brown eye. He will need to be fixed as part of his adoption.
