McKamey residence on this year's Zonta Tour of Homes

The Zonta Club of Mineral Wells is pleased to announce the upcoming Tour of Homes. The tour is Sunday, Dec. 6, starting at 2 p.m.

Featured on tour this year are the homes of Darlene Garrett, Marlin and Kelly Stults and Jeffery and Christy McKamey along with St. Luke’s Church and Cherokee Iron Works.

Jeffery and Christy McKamey purchased their home in 2006 and immediately began renovations. This craftsman-style home is located at 514 N.W. 4th Ave. and was built around 1924 by a wealthy oilman. His family sold the home to the Marsden family, which owned the home until the McKameys purchased it.

Jeff has stripped the baseboards and door frames, installed floating hardwood floors and repainted all the rooms. An ongoing project, the McKameys have renovated and updated the back yard by having tilled, leveled and replanted the grass and built a 400-square-foot deck. They have completely gutted and rebuilt the downstairs shower, added shelves on either side of the fireplace and installed wooden shutters and built a closet system for the family bedrooms.

Jeffery and Christy McKamey, along with their children, Isabel, Quinn and Noah, invite you to come see their home Sunday, Dec. 6, starting at 2 p.m. with the Zonta Tour of Homes.

Zonta Club of Mineral Wells is proud to offer this tour every year as their primary fundraiser. Zonta supports services internationally and locally including Meals on Wheels of Palo Pinto County through United Way of Palo Pinto County, Coats for Kids, the Hope Girl Scout Troop, the Lifeline Program and Women’s Services at Palo Pinto General Hospital, Cocoon Pregnancy Resource Center, Hope Shelter, Dunbar Neighborhood Council and local efforts for cancer research.
