Officers made four arrests and seized methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana during two traffic stops Tuesday, according to Mineral Wells police.
Two teens were arrested during a traffic stop in the 700 block of S.E. 14th Avenue around 3 p.m. Tuesday for speeding in a school zone, police reported.
The driver, Marcus Dylan Foust, 18, of Lipan, was arrested for possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces, in a school zone and Jammie Lee Ingram Jr., 17, of Mineral Wells, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, more than 4 grams, less than 400 grams. Ingram reportedly had two bags of what he identified as “‘shrooms,” or psilocybin mushrooms, police said.
In a separate incident, a vehicle was stopped in the in the 1700 block of S.W. 4th Avenue around 7 p.m. Tuesday for failure to signal a turn.
The officer who approached smelled marijuana, according to police.
The driver, Amber Dawn McCoey, 26, of Lipan, was arrested for failure to signal, driving with expired registration and inspection, driving without insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The passenger, Kimberly Ann Dow, 42, of Mineral Wells, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, believed to be methamphetamine, less than 1 gram.
Two arrested during search for suspect
While assisting a Parker County truancy officer searching for a subject, Mineral Wells police made two warrant-related arrests.
When officers talked with a woman in the 3000 block of Airport Road around 11 a.m., they discovered she had a warrant. Kendra Williams Hayes, 30, of Mineral Wells, was arrested on a warrant for speeding in a school zone.
Officers also arrested a woman in the 600 block of S.W. 19th Street during the search. Micha Renee Pilkington, 26, of Mineral Wells, was arrested on two traffic warrants and a warrant for dog-at-large. Pilkington also had Palo Pinto County warrants for theft, more than $20, less than $500 and a Parker County warrant for motion to revoke probation for theft, more than $20, less than $500.
School bus burglarized
• Several items from five students were stolen from a Sweetwater school bus parked at a restaurant in the 3200 block of N.E. 2nd Street around 8 p.m., according to police.
The door to the bus was left unlocked and students, ages 14 to 16 years old, returned to find their bags rummaged through, police reported. Wallets, an iPod, a cellphone and I.D. cards, valued at $300, were stolen, police said.
• A stereo and amplifier were reported stolen from a pickup parked in a back yard in the 500 block of N.W. 11th Street between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. The items were valued at $750.
Arrest
Mineral Wells police reported making the following arrest:
• Mark Joseph Jowell, 35, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Tuesday on three traffic warrants.
