SPENCER SPRINGS, Texas – You’re not experiencing a case of pink eye. Those bottle caps and labels on Eventide Spring Water are actually pink.
The Parker County company has introduced the special packaging for the month of October in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“We take the fight against breast cancer seriously,” says Mike Putnam, President of Eventide. Many of the company’s owners and employees have seen their lives touched by mothers, wives, and sisters fighting breast cancer.
“We’re giving a significant percentage of our sales to Careity Foundation during the month of October,” adds Putnam. “We believe in their mission to help fund mammograms and complete treatment for economically challenged cancer patients in Tarrant, Parker, Johnson and surrounding counties.”
The gift is made larger through the contribution of Eventide’s label vendor, Fort Worth-based Lewis Label Company. Lewis Label is producing all pink labels for the month at a discounted price so that additional funds will flow toward Careity’s service to the less fortunate. Visit Careity Foundation’s Web site at www.careity.org, or call (817) 882-4100.
All across Texas, in 171 H-E-B Grocery Stores, plus at Wal-Mart locations in Mineral Wells, western Tarrant County, Parker County, as well as 75 convenience stores, customer purchases of Eventide Spring Water will help fund counseling and treatment for those braving breast cancer.
“Eventide is a natural spring water, with none of its minerals or nutrients removed during purification. Our water is literally ‘good for you,’” said company spokesman John Fletcher. “And that carries a double meaning as each purchased bottle or case will raise money that will do something ‘good for you’ for cancer warriors.”
Eventide began operations in 2005, after 16-year-old Spencer Parker discovered the natural spring while exploring the family’s property. The company traces the spring’s history back to the 1880s, when travelers about to cross the Brazos River would stop and enjoy the fresh spring water flowing from a limestone rock formation.
Eventide Spring Water is the first bottled water manufacturer in Texas certified by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Eventide is a member of the Texas Department of Agriculture’s GO TEXAN program, which encourages the marketing of Texas-based and Texas-originated products.
