Reward offered for rape suspects info
Mineral Wells police were called Thursday evening to a residence in the 400 block of Beetham Road in regards to a sexual assault. A woman was taken by ambulance to Palo Pinto General Hospital for treatment and examination around 10 p.m.
According police, the victim was walking home around 9:30 p.m. from a job at Brazos Mall when two men in a car drove past her, whistling and yelling. She continued to walk, and the suspects approached her again. Police said the car stopped and a male suspect exited, grabbed her and forced her into the back seat where he sexually assaulted her. The victim was then released from the vehicle.
The suspect is described as a white male, 20-25 years of age standing about 6 feet tall with acne scars on his face. He is said to have a medium complexion with short hair, a thin build, a slight mustache and goatee and wore a dark, fitted baseball cap worn backwards. He wore a white T-shirt, baggy pants, smelled “sweaty,” had a possible tattoo or armband below his right elbow and spoke using slang terms, like a rapper.
The driver was described only as a white male. No vehicle description was available.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (940) 325-0000, where anonymous information leading to an arrest and indictment will be rewarded with up to $1,000 cash.
Thousands in cash, jewelry stolen
Mineral Wells police are investigating a reported theft of cash and jewelry from a vehicle that allegedly took place Wednesday morning.
A 61-year-old driver of a 1995 Toyota pickup told police she believed she locked her vehicle when she went into the Texas Workforce building in the 2300 block of East Hubbard Street around 10 a.m. that day. She said she was inside for about an hour.
When she returned to her vehicle, she discovered a purse she left in the front floorboard was missing. She claimed the purse contained $1,800 cash and jewelry police valued at between $15,000 and $20,000.
Police said among the jewelry items were seven women’s gold and diamond rings, a ruby ring, a large men’s ring, earrings and costume jewelry pieces.
There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle.
Child’s outcry
Mineral Wells police were called to a doctor’s office on Holly Hill Road Wednesday in response to a request by Child Protective Services involving a child’s outcry. A report on the case had not yet been completed or filed. Police are investigating the claim.
Wrecks
A wreck Thursday evening near the conclusion of the Mineral Wells High School homecoming bonfire sent one woman to PPGH, police said.
A report of the wreck was not completed as of Friday morning and included few details.
The wreck occurred about 8:35 p.m. in the 1400 block of U.S. Highway 180 West near Miller Stadium.
Police said a 2002 Chevrolet two-door was struck in the left side and a 36-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to PPGH.
No other information was available.
In a separate incident, A Mineral Wells Police Department Ford Expedition was struck by a vehicle as it pulled from the station parking lot onto S.W. 1st Street near the South Oak Avenue intersection.
The incident occurred Thursday morning. The police vehicle sustained minor damage, and the officer driving received a minor injury to his left thumb, caused when the steering wheel sharply turned at impact.
The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the collision.
Burglary
Mineral Wells police responded Friday morning to a security alarm at a food delivery business in the 1100 block of S.E. 1st Street.
Police said a window in the front door was broken and entry made around 12:30 a.m. Police checked the building.
Management arrived, turned off the alarm and said the office door was opened and drawers opened, looking for money. But the suspect or suspects were not able to find any and nothing was reported missing.
Arrests
• Davin Torrey Barrett, 35, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Tuesday for not wearing a seat belt and for no proof of auto liability.
• Dusty Lynn Still, 30, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Wednesday for driving while intoxicated and two counts of driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15.
• Robert Michael Smith, 40, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Wednesday on a Mineral Wells police warrant for forgery.
• Kevin Eugene Harrison, 31, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Thursday for driving with an invalid license.
• Anna Renee O’Shield, 20, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Thursday on a Mineral Wells police warrant for running a stop sign.
• Gerald F. Murphy III, 27, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Friday for assault.

Man, woman arrested in drug bust at local bar
Gary Ross Nickols, 56, of Mineral Wells, and Elise Nichole Dalton, 25, of Millsap, were arrested Tuesday around 2:30 p.m. at a bar in the 1600 block of South Oak after Mineral Wells police assisted the City-County Narcotics Unit, reportedly acting on information obtained by CCNU.
