Senior executives from a company that filed suit against three local businesses last year face their own legal battle after state investigators arrested them last week on several felony charges.
HEST Technologies Corporation, headquartered in Haltom City, joined Elihu Technology Enterprises LLC last September in suing three Palo Pinto County businesses, along with others across the nation, for allegedly running illegal gambling operations.
In part, the suit alleges the businesses allowed customers to play software games of chance, which they advertised as charitable sweepstakes. The plaintiffs contended the businesses misrepresented the games, which their attorney, Chad Cannon, called “nothing more than gambling outfits” shortly after the suit was filed.
According to county records, the suit against The Lean Too, Big Boys Amusement, and Spinners, is pending.
