According to Mitch Bradshaw, president of the newly formed Brazos River Wounded Warriors Outdoors non-profit organization, ticket sales for the group’s first event will continue to be sold until Monday.
While the group is not accepting any additional sponsorships for the Feb. 25 dinner and dance, which will feature live music by Kyle Bennett, those interested in attending can purchase tickets at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop or by calling Bradshaw at (940) 325-5952 or BRWWO Vice President Tammy Underwood at (817) 215-7781.
Following a reception of injured soldiers by the Patriot Guard Riders Feb. 24, the soldiers will take part in a guided hunt the next day, prior to the evening event at the Palo Pinto County Livestock and Expo Center.
Tickets are $50, Bradshaw said, which “includes the concert and the barbecue dinner with all the trimmings and includes soft drinks, water and beer.”
Though liquor and wine will not be provided at the event, attendees may bring their own, provided any containers taken inside the expo center are made of plastic.
There will also be raffle ticket sales and an auction, he noted, offering a preview of several items to be offered.
“A ranch in Loving has donated a trophy fallow buck hunt valued at $3,500,” Bradshaw said, noting there will also be a number of firearms included in the auction.
All of the proceeds from this event will go toward supporting injured soldiers through the local organization and other groups such as Patriots and Heroes Outdoors and the Wounded Warrior Project.
