According to Mineral Wells police reports, suspects in two recent and unrelated incidents were caught shortly after attempting to flee on foot.
A police spokesperson said authorities were dispatched to the 300 block of N.W. 2nd Avenue around 3:20 a.m. Tuesday in response to the report of a domestic disturbance.
Officers encountered a male and female at the scene and, during the investigation, noticed the male walking backwards away from police while reaching behind his back.
He ultimately pulled out a knife and ran from officers, who gave chase and captured him about two blocks away.
Reports indicate one officer was assaulted while trying to arrest the suspect.
According to police, Mark Alan Hennington, 37, of Mineral Wells, was arrested for resisting arrest, evading arrest, assault causing bodily injury on a police officer and an unrelated parole violation warrant.
A second incident took place around 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Garrett Morris Parkway.
