This week’s amazing Pet of the Week is a female dog named Zoe, which means “life.”
What stands out first about Zoe is her gorgeous fawn-brindle coat. Because of this coloring and her size and demeanor, she is likely part greyhound – a very gentle, sweet breed. The fawn brindle coat color is also in dog breeds like the great dane, boxer, mastiff and bulldog.
Spend some time with Zoe and her kind nature comes through. Shelter staff characterize her as “sweet” and “loving” and said she has a great personality and likes attention. She comes to life around people.
She would make a great running or hiking partner for a family or single person. In fact, Zoe would definitely attract attention anywhere she goes with her new human.
In addition to speed and endurance, today’s racing greyhounds are bred for an even temperament, emotional disposition and soundness. This breed loves people and tends to be quite sociable.
Shelter staff found Zoe one morning. They said someone left her in the horse pen, but the gate wasn’t closed and she got out and was running around. When they called her, she came right to them.
Come meet Zoe and see what beauty and energy she will bring to her new home.
To adopt Zoe or any number of dogs, puppies, cats or kittens, contact the Mineral Wells Animal Shelter at (940) 328-7752. The shelter is located at 101 Farm-to-Market Road 2256 and is open 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on weekends.
