Man drowns in PK Lake

A body was pulled from Possum Kingdom Lake early Sunday morning after a search for a missing man began Saturday night, according to authorities.

A 46-year-old man from Shaker’s Camp on the west side of Possum Kingdom Lake was pronounced dead at 1:24 p.m. after his body was found and pulled from the lake, according to Stephens County Justice of the Peace Mike Heatley.

He was found about 25-30 feet from the edge of the lake in about 12-14 feet of water, according to Heatley.

Heatley said he ruled it an accidental drowning, though the body was sent to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner for autopsy.

No further information was available Tuesday from the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office.

Stranger reportedly pulls gun near bar
A group leaving a business in the 100 block of S.W. 17th Street just before midnight Friday night was allegedly accosted by an unknown man with a pistol, according to police.

A man reportedly approached them and they got into an argument, police said.

The man then pulled a large-caliber handgun, according to a police report. He had not made any demands when the magazine fell out of the gun, police said.

He then picked up the magazine and fled in a pickup truck, according to police.

Man allegedly pulls gun in neighborhood
Two residents in the 900 block of S.W. 28th Street reported a stranger pointed a gun towards a man before walking down the road and discharging the weapon, police said.

According to a police report, one resident heard a dog barking and saw a man standing in the front yard of the house yelling and screaming.

Another neighbor reportedly tried to approach the man, when he pointed a gun at the man.

The man then walked down the street and the neighbors heard a muffled gunshot down the road but police were unable to find the man, police said.

The neighbors reportedly did not know who the man was or what he was saying, according to police.
