Police busy with recent property crimes

Mineral Wells Police report several property crimes within the city over the past week.

A complainant in the 1000 block of S.E. 4th Avenue reported someone entered the residence Friday and removed a small safe containing a sum of cash, a wallet and identifying information.

The combined value of the items taken is $1,070, according to the incident report.



Another burglary was reported Friday in the 1800 block of S.E. 12th Avenue.

According to the complainant, an ex-roommate entered the residence without consent and took two video gaming consoles, a selection of jewelry and the home's electric meter.

Police reports did not include an estimated value of the missing items.

A theft report filed Friday in the 1200 block of N.W. 4th Avenue indicates a complainant at the location hired a contractor to complete roof repairs and purchased about $9,000 worth of metal for the job.

The contractor later claimed the material was stolen from an off-site storage location, police said.

A complainant in the 1200 block of N.W. 1st Avenue reported an acquaintance borrowed a guitar Friday and did not return it as per their agreement.

The guitar is valued at $600.

Someone entered a residence in the 1900 block of S.E. 11th Street through an open front door Friday, according to a complainant's report.

Police said a lockbox containing birth certificates, vehicle titles and a .40-caliber pistol were reported missing from the residence.

A complainant in the 300 block of N.W. 14th Street reported someone entered the residence and removed a variety of prescription medications Saturday.
