Citizens and local fire departments came out in force Saturday evening to welcome close to 600 members of the U.S. Army National Guard 124th Cavalry who will train locally for the next few months. Members of the Cool-Garner Volunteer Fire Department, Adell-Whitt VFD and Mineral Wells Fire Department escorted the convoy of military vehicles and travel coaches into Fort Wolters. Fire crews sprayed an arch of water for the convoy to pass under.
