Man arrested after vehicle strikes two poles, sign


A Weatherford man was arrested in Mineral Wells Sunday morning after reportedly striking two telephone poles and a street sign.

According to police reports, Harlin Russell Jessup, 21, was traveling eastbound in the 600 block of S.W. 1st Street at 11:50 p.m. Saturday night when he reportedly lost control of his 1990 GMC pickup and struck the first telephone pole.

Police reported that Jessup continued eastbound, struck a road sign and collided with a second telephone pole.

Police officials said that when Jessup was confronted by the officer, he stated that his name was Clark Bryson.

According to the wreck report, the vehicle traveled 528 feet from the initial impact point; failure to control speed was listed on the report as a contributing factor. The value of the damaged telephone poles was listed as $4,500.

Jessup was arrested at 12:10 a.m. Sunday for failure to identify and possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility. Officials reported that Jessup was searched at the city jail and a blue pill bottle was found in his pocket. It reportedly contained two baggies containing what officials suspected is crystal methamphetamine.

Burglary
• 1900 block of S.W. 8th Avenue – A residence was reported burglarized Saturday with entry made through a bathroom window. Two X-box controllers and a game were reported stolen; they were valued at $130.

Arrests
The Mineral Wells Police Department reported making the following arrests:

• Benton Keith Bryant, 37, of Santo, was arrested Saturday on a felony MWPD warrant for criminal nonsupport.

• Matthew Shane Collins, 22, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Tuesday for no driver’s license, failure to show insurance, no seatbelt and speeding in a school zone.

• Pamela Moore Eakins, 51, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Monday on a Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Department warrant for theft by check greater than $20 and less than $500.

• Thomas Fowler, 17, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Tuesday for theft less than $50.

• Onita Hatcher, 31, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Monday on a Jack County probation violation warrant.

• Keith Richard Hedrick, 19, of Krum, was arrested Sunday for public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Regina Lee Lamb, 43, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Saturday for simple assault.

• Jeanna Renee Ortiz, 26, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Saturday for littering, consuming alcohol in a city park and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

• Krista Ann Ramos, 19, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Friday on a MWPD traffic warrant.

• Salvador Betancourt Silva, 22, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Saturday for public intoxication, littering and possession of an alcoholic beverage in a city park.

• Gwendolyn Nicole Tincher, 24, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Friday for Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Department warrant for theft by check.
