The annual Mineral Wells Merchants Association Community Parade is Saturday, Dec. 1.
If you are interested in entering a float go by Kwik Kar, 2104 E. Hubbard St., in Mineral Wells.
Each entry is required to follow the theme, “The Christmas Spirit.” Entries for the parade will be in four categories: church; commercial/manufacturing; civic and education. First, second, and third place will be awarded in each of the categories. Overall first place wins $100; second place, $75 and third place $50. Awards will be announced in the Mineral Wells Index after the parade.
Floats should not exceed 65-feet in length, 8 feet in width and 14-feet in height. It is recommended that each float or towing vehicle have a minimum 2-A, 10BC fire extinguisher on it.
An official Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be provided by the parade committee. No other Santa Claus or Mrs. Claus will be permitted in the parade.
No smoking on floats in parade. Parade route to be announced. Entry line-up begins at 2:30 p.m.
