According to a Texas Department of Public Safety press release, state troopers will be patrolling in higher numbers this week because of the upcoming July 4th holiday.
Patrol began Saturday and ends July 8, the troopers will reportedly focus on high-risk locations during periods when drunk driving crashes are most common.
DPS Director Steven McCraw explains the need to remain sober or use a designated driver.
