MINERAL WELLS —
Delivery of the Tuesday through Friday editions of the Mineral Wells Index moves to the United States Postal Service effective Tuesday.
Tuesday’s editions will be delivered with Tuesday’s mail at all points in Palo Pinto County and for subscribers in Parker County.
Sunday’s edition will continue to be delivered by carrier on Saturday night.
“Every effort has been made to make this as seamless of a transition as we can,” said Steve Boggs, Lone Star News Group division manager, which includes the Index, Weatherford Democrat and Cleburne Times-Review. “Our subscribers will receive their paper during the week where they get their mail, when they get their mail. That’s the main message to be conveyed with this change.”
Delivery times will change somewhat for some subscribers. Many customers will actually get their paper earlier in the day, while others will see delivery moved back in the day – both corresponding to the normal delivery time for their mail.
In the event that a subscriber does not get their paper in the mail on Tuesday, they call the Index at (940) 325-4465.
All circulars, special promotions and other inserted material will be included with the daily delivery.
Post office box customers will find their daily newspaper in the P.O. box each day.
“From the questions we have fielded about this transition since it was announced early this month, the biggest concern from our customers is timely delivery. They have asked us if the papers have to travel to the Fort Worth distribution plant, and the answer is no,” Boggs said.
Newsstand copies of the Index are available by 6 a.m. each publication day. There will be no changes to the Sunday edition delivery times. Customers should expect their paper by 7 a.m. Sunday morning.
