Lightning on Friday is believed the cause of a 300-acre fire Sunday off Farm-to-Market Road 919 and Schoolhouse Road, according to Lone Camp VFD Chief Charlie Sims. Fire crews and equipment from Lone Camp, Brazos, Graford, Gordon, Strawn, Possum Kingdom East, the Jack County Strike Team and Texas Forest Service battled the blaze. No structures burned, and no injuries were reported. Sims said lightning also likely caused a 130-acre fire on Upper Bend Road.
