Kids Swim Safe

GRAFORD – The Possum Kingdom Chamber of Commerce will put on its third annual ‘Kids Swim Safe’ event this Saturday at Possum Kingdom Lake.

The event is co-sponsored by Bigfish Real Estate.

The program distributes life jackets to children who attend the annual Hell’s Gate Fireworks Show at Camp Grady Spruce. The YMCA welcomes visitors to Camp Grady Spruce each year to watch the fireworks display from its shoreline on Possum Kingdom Lake.

The camp is located on the Peninsula directly across the lake from the famous Hell’s Gate landmark and provides the best seats in the house for watching the stunning fireworks performance. The camp requires anyone who gets in the water to wear a life jacket. The PK Kids Swim Safe program was established to promote water safety and to allow more children the opportunity to get in the water.

Tickets to the event are $5 per person, and the gates open at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Visit www.PossumKingdomLake.com for additional information and lodging options; or call the PK Chamber of Commerce at (940) 779-2424 or BigFish Real Estate at (940) 779-3200.
