The following teachers portrayed the famous celebrities who were on hand to judge the talent. They were Bret Lane, math teacher and coach, who portrayed Simon of ‘American Idol’ (picture not available); Jacki Bandy, art teacher, portrayed Joan Rivers, recent winner of ‘The Celebrity Apprentice;’ Connie Borgeson, special education teacher, who portrayed Marge Simpson, blue hair and all; and David Farkas, who portrayed Ricky Bobby, fictional race car driver from the movie, ‘Talladega Nights.’ Bata Boyd/Courtesy
On June 2, Mineral Wells Junior High Student Council sponsored the Fourth Annual American Idol Junior Talent Show. As students came into the gym, music filled the air. It came from the sound of Dyess’s band. The band members were Jason Behrens on bass; Sam Waddy, lead singer; Kirk Watson, lead guitar; and Eric Dyess, math teacher, on drums. The student body was ready for an hour of entertainment featuring the talent of MWJH. There were a total of 16 acts including a variety of talents such as vocalists, karate demonstrations, dancers, instrumentalists and more. Dyess’ band played and a famous panel of judges were present to pick the finalists. From the finalists the student body chose the winners.

On June 2, Mineral Wells Junior High Student Council sponsored the Fourth Annual American Idol Junior Talent Show. As students came into the gym, music filled the air. It came from the sound of Dyess’s band. The band members were Jason Behrens on bass; Sam Waddy, lead singer; Kirk Watson, lead guitar; and Eric Dyess, math teacher, on drums. The student body was ready for an hour of entertainment featuring the talent of MWJH.
