Police stopped a black Mercury car observed sitting across from the Corrections Corporation of America Pre-parole Transfer Facility around 3 a.m. Monday morning and performed a search of the vehicle. Police said they found small foam footballs and duct tape on the floorboard of the vehicle and advised CCA personnel to be aware of a possible attempt to drop contraband. Police said neither individual, both from Dallas, had warrants and were sent on their way.
About two hours later, police responded to a call from CCA and talked with another man who was in possession of four small footballs stuffed with tobacco and lighters. Police said the man had been dropped off by the car earlier and did not succeed in dropping contraband inside the prison facility, a felony offense, so he was sent home.
Burglaries
• Six storage units were broken into Friday evening at a business in the 2800 block of U.S. Highway 180 West, according to police. The owner reported finding locks cut and renters have been contacted to provide police with a list of any stolen items.
• A fuel injector pump was reported stolen Monday from the engine of an 18-wheeler truck, police said.
The part for the 1991 Volvo truck is valued at $1,200, according to police.
• A resident in the 1000 block of S.W. 23rd Street reported finding a window ajar and items scattered around the house when they returned to the house, according to police. Nothing was reported stolen.
• The door of a residence in the 400 block of Shady Oak Circle was open when a resident returned, according to police reports. According to police, several items around the house had been disturbed but nothing was reported missing.
Fishing gear stolen
Over $450 worth of rods, reels, and lures were stolen from a boat parked in the 300 block of N.E. 19th Street, according to the police. The items are believed to have been taken between 5 p.m. Monday and 6 p.m. Tuesday.

• Jeremy Michael Hanna, 23, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Wednesday for speeding and driving without a license and insurance.
• Andy Cruz, 48, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for burglary of a habitation.
• Justin Edward Porter, 20, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Thursday for simple assault.
• Randell Dean Hammond Jr., 29, of Graham, was arrested Thursday on a Young County warrant for forgery.
• Jamicie Jinteen Smith, 36, of Graham, was arrested Thursday on a Young County warrant for forgery.
• Christopher Franklin Murphy, 22, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Friday on five Mineral Wells Police Department warrants for disorderly conduct and traffic violations and a Weatherford Police Department warrant for theft.
• Barbara Rae Goolsby, 27, of Weatherford, was arrested Friday on seven Mineral Wells Police Department traffic warrants.
• Ruben Aguilar, 20, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Friday on two Mineral Wells Police Department traffic warrants.
• Leonardo Lopez, 58, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Saturday for evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated, second offense.
• Catarino Sanchez, 22, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Saturday for reckless driving.
• Israel Andres Cortez, 20, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Sunday for public intoxication and minor in consumption of alcohol.
• Tina Marie Pina Nickel, 39, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Sunday on 17 Mineral Wells Police Department warrants for traffic and unrestrained child violation.
• Tony Marvin Carr, 46, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Sunday for public intoxication, possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Clifton Wayne Howeth, 28, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Sunday for driving while intoxicated.
