Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Ortiz, of Mineral Wells, announce the upcoming marriage of their son, Blake Ortiz, to Leighanne Meador, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Meador, of Dickinson, Texas.
Blake is a 2006 graduate of Mineral Wells High School. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from McMurry University, in Abilene, in 2010 and received his Master of Business Administration degree from Ashford University in 2012. He is currently employed with Upham Oil and Gas.
Leighanne is a 2004 graduate of Dickinson High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from McMurry University in 2008 and will receive a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2013. She is employed at the Cowgirl Museum in Fort Worth.
The couple plan to exchange vows Nov. 24, 2012, in Fort Worth, and will reside in Weatherford.

Reflections on Neighborhood Watch and Solicitations
A couple of things happened that encouraged me to write this particular column. First of all, our neighborhood formed a Neighborhood Watch group. This is being encouraged by Chief of Police Dean Sullivan and supported by the Mineral Wells Police Department. As we have had one home invasion in our neighborhood (burglars broke in while the neighbors were asleep in bed), we really want to watch out for each other!
