Donna and Rual Perkins celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 31.
They eloped in 1962 and were married by the Justice of the Peace in Daingerfield, Texas.
Their children and grandchildren are daughter, Mary Laigle and husband, Kevin, of Mineral Wells; grandson, Brian Smeal and wife, Tegann, of Grand Prairie; granddaughters, Sheldon Laigle, of College Station, and Hannah Laigle, of Mineral Wells; son Benjamin Perkins and wife, Anne, of Munich, Germany; and granddaughter, Lea Sophie Perkins, and grandson, Noa Marshall Perkins, also of Munich, Germany.

Reflections on Neighborhood Watch and Solicitations
A couple of things happened that encouraged me to write this particular column. First of all, our neighborhood formed a Neighborhood Watch group. This is being encouraged by Chief of Police Dean Sullivan and supported by the Mineral Wells Police Department. As we have had one home invasion in our neighborhood (burglars broke in while the neighbors were asleep in bed), we really want to watch out for each other!
