The annual Hope Gala is Saturday, Nov. 14, at Holiday Hills Country Club.
The formal, black tie affair will feature dinner, auctions and dancing. The evening’s featured band is the Hi Rollers.
Tickets are $50 each and available by calling (940) 325-1306.
The hosts and hostesses for this year’s gala are Dr. Michael Bailey, Angela Brewer, Jeanette Ender, Sue Boya, Shirley Ellis, Michael Burns, Penni Beauregard, Bill and Margaret Terry, Matt Butcher, Michelle Garcia, Rick Brock, Sarah Blume and Regan Johnson.
“October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and I am reflecting on all the amazing accomplishments of the Hope Shelter, and how far we’ve come,” said Hope Executive Director Lisa Huffaker. “Thank you to all our friends, employees, board members and volunteers who have made Hope Inc. the most inviting shelter in Texas.”
Huffaker said in 2008 Hope Inc. housed 86 victims of domestic violence.
“Hope’s reward is the metamorphous from victim to survivor-triumph over tragedy,” she said. “We have the opportunity to work with courageous people who inspire us every day. Hope Inc. provides food, clothing, shelter, counseling, and the emotional support needed to make healthy changes.”
Anyone in need of services can call (940) 325-1306. The shelter is open seven days a week.
