Alfred (Al) and Linda Mahan Stevens celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary hosted by their children, Chuck and David, at the AGAPE Coffee Haus in Aledo, Texas.
Linda and Al renewed their vows, officiated by Spencer Row.
The couple were married June 30, 1962, at the home of Linda’s parents, U.L. and Willie Mahan. Mr. Stevens retired from the U.S. Army, serving his country for 22 and-a-half years including two tours of Korea, two in Vietnam, Missouri, El Paso, Washington and Killeen, Texas.
Linda retired from Corrections Corporation of America in 2008.
The Stevens have eight grandchildren: Andrew, Amanda, David Ray, Melinda, Spencer, Cassandra (Cassie), Colton and Corbit; and five great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Oliver, Josie Wells, Jaxon and Braydon.

Reflections on Neighborhood Watch and Solicitations
A couple of things happened that encouraged me to write this particular column. First of all, our neighborhood formed a Neighborhood Watch group. This is being encouraged by Chief of Police Dean Sullivan and supported by the Mineral Wells Police Department. As we have had one home invasion in our neighborhood (burglars broke in while the neighbors were asleep in bed), we really want to watch out for each other!
