6-7 foreign exchange student from Germany enjoys school in Graford and playing basketball for Jackrabbits.

GRAFORD – Graford High School has a history of participating in the foreign exchange program, but never had the Palo Pinto County school landed a 6-foot, 7-inch basketball player from Germany before August when Germany native Leonard Benning joined the community for his junior year of high school.

Benning, from Oldenburg, Germany, has made a huge impact on a Jackrabbits basketball team that is currently state ranked and one of the favorites to win the region.

Graford head coach Ty Tabor said he saw that Benning did not lack basketball skills when he first graced the GHS gym floor.
