District asks parents to use Angel Tree for gift requests

Mineral Wells ISD principals would like to let parents know that all schools are working with the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department’s Tommy’s Angel Tree program and asking people to place all requests for help directly with this organization, instead of contacting each campus with requests.

School personnel will continue to help local children in need by filling a Tommy’s Angel Tree “angel” wish list.

Remaining sign up dates and times for Angel Tree are 7-9 p.m. on Nov. 27; and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Dec. 1. All sign ups will take place at the Steve Perdue Training Center, 300 S. Oak Ave., one block south of the main fire station.

To sign up a child you must bring picture ID for the parent or guardian; the child’s original or certified birth certificate (no copies); child’s Social Security card (no copies); and proof of household income.

Delivery of Angel Tree gifts is Saturday, Dec. 15 beginning at 8 a.m. Angel Tree is a community project providing Christmas gifts for local and area underprivileged children ages 12 and under. For more information or questions call (940) 325-7105.
