MINERAL WELLS — The Mineral Wells FFA officers team and award recipients attended the 82nd Annual Texas FFA Convention in Corpus Christi this summer. Three students, Skyler Flaska, Whitley Windell and Ramsey Walker were awarded their Lonestar FFA Degree, which is the highest degree on the state level. Kirby-Lee Marsden was chosen out of 100 students to serve as an FFA Ambassador to assist the sponsors of the Texas FFA Convention. All of the students served as voting delegates throughout the week of convention.

Dads, father figures taking part in Houston's WATCH D.O.G.S. program
According to Tymmie Boyd, Houston Elementary School counselor, approximately 350 dads or other father figures and students attended a kick off pizza party to begin a new national program called WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) on Jan. 19.
