Travis students pen diamond-shaped Thanksgiving poems

Travis Elementary students in Mrs. Smiddy’s and Ms. Staten’s fifth grade Language Arts classes recently wrote Thanksgiving Diamonte poems. What is a diamonte? A diamonte is fun and easy to write. The purpose is to go from the subject at the top of the diamond-shaped poem and end with another subject at the bottom. Notice how the poems begin to change into Thanksgiving dinner.
