Mineral Wells student Stephanie Mays, 18, right, receives a scholarship check from Beth Ray. In honor of her late husband, Ted, Beth Ray established a scholarship fund to benefit two students each year who are going into nursing or the medical field. Last year’s recipient was a girl from Lipan. Mays is a home-schooled student and plans to attend the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton.
