By LIBBY CLUETT | lcluett@mineralwellsindex.com

Two Mineral Wells High School Ram vocalists, junior Gabby Kindle and sophomore Thomas Pophin, are headed for their next opportunity to audition in front of judges after winning them over Oct. 13 in the third round of the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Choir competition.

The students competed against students from around Keller, Saginaw, Denton and Wichita Falls, including singers from Class 4A and 5A schools. Kindle and Pophin advanced and earned a seat in the All-Region Choir.

Kindle finished second chair and Pophin finished 16th chair. According to MWHS Choir Director Mac Chestnut, only three other students from schools Class 3A or smaller made it to the third round and MWHS had the only students from Class 3A and smaller schools to advance to the next audition, called Pre-Area.
