Cyclists power up the hill ascending toward First United Methodist Church in Mineral Wells in a previous criterium race, or crit. The race is “like NASCAR on two wheels,” race organizer Andy Hollinger says. This weekend, close to 350 licensed professional and amateur racers will descend on Palo Pinto County. Saturday features the crit and will effect traffic in the northernmost two lanes along East Hubbard until 5:30 p.m. Drivers are asked to be aware, careful and give cyclists plenty of room when passing. The accompanying story has details on the three stages of the Iris Stagner Memorial Stage Race.
