Toddler killed in Wednesday night wreck

PARKER COUNTY — A 1-year-old was killed in a wreck Wednesday night just outside of Mineral Wells.

The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the crash on Highway 180, about five miles southeast of city limits, around 6:30 p.m.

According to the preliminary report, the SUV was traveling westbound when it left the roadway and began to roll, coming to rest on the north side of the roadway on its roof.

The child was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver, a 29-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene and released.

Neither the adult nor the child was wearing a safety belt, according to DPS.
